About Sarah Hegarty Chess Club:

We pride ourselves on the highest standards and ensure all out classes are engaging, fun, and tailored to the students. We happily take on complete beginners through to players competing for International championships and ensure each child gets the most of the experience.

We use physical and digital materials.

If they wish, children will be enrolled in individual and team competitions such as teh Delancey UK Chess Challenge, the EPSCA national primary schools chess championships and AJIS chess championships.

About the teacher:

Daniel Lee – I have played the game of chess since a very early age, taking it more seriously whilst studying at University, playing in tournaments. I have been a member of the Chorlton chess club for many years. For the last few years I have worked as a tutor for a children’s chess group in Altrincham recently becoming a chess coach for Sarah.

Pauline Whitehead – Chess assistant to help Daniel organise the class and help the new children with little knowledge of chess. I have worked in admin for many years, in a bank and most recently in a primary school.  I run a brownie unit local to where I live and I am also a qualified teaching assistant. Recently I decided to give up my role working in a primary school and an opportunity arose to work with Sarah, helping with admin duties and assisting the coaches.
